Although this early Bob Jackson is a tad too tall for me, I couldn't resist the flamboyant purple paint. Note the prugnat lugs, which are rarely found on Bob Jackson bicycles. The bike is built with a mix of parts, including a TA crankset and Huret and Campagnolo derailleurs. The Bluemels mudguards couldn't be a more perfect match. Yes, the bracket is in the wrong position (I wonder who is responsible?). The 1969 date of manufacture is a guess.
You may be curious about the Bob Jackson memorial stained-glass window. I am fond of the Bob Jackson brand, but I am not worshipful. The stained-glass panels came from a farmhouse door I rescued nearly sixty years ago. The door had long since disappeared, so I decided to mount the glass in a reasonable facsimile of the Bob Jackson heraldic cross.
