This is an early 1980s model Lightning P-38, one of the most enduring of all recumbent designs. The P-38's speed, handling, and maneuverability are legendary. My recumbent bikes turned heads when I rode them on Ragbrai over thirty years ago. It is gratifying to see so many variations of recumbent design on the road today. My father rode a recumbent trike in his seventies and eighties, when avoiding a fall became a crucial issue. I've no doubt this added years to his life.
