The Raleigh Portage is one of the first, if not the first production bicycle to be spec'd with 650B wheels, and as such is still sought after some forty years later as a premier touring bike. My Raleigh Portage has spent the last few years with my artist brother David, who rode the bike for many miles on the High Trestle Trail in Iowa--a special joy for the artist who created the bridge that has now been recognized around the world as a masterpiece of design.
David added wider Cinelli handlebars and index shifting, with an extra cog in back, giving the Raleigh 21 speeds.
