Welcome to Dahlquist Cycleworks!

The bicycles pictured here are the work of half a lifetime. Where appropriate, accompanying text will provide brief historical context. Careful observation may reveal an occasional too-long cable loop, a saddle tilted at the wrong angle, etc. Few of the bikes in my virtual museum are presented as "show quality;" all should be considered works in progress. My goal is to present as many of my bikes as possible, with available photographs; improving each as time and pocketbook permit. I plan to add to this site for the rest of my life; but as Mark Twain observed, "Seventy is old enough. After that, there is too much risk."  I think of antique and classic bicycle projects much as I do poems or paintings:  they are never finished; only abandoned.
