The Enfield Cycle Company Limited of Redditch, Worcestershire made some beautiful motorcycles and bicycles, beginning around the turn of the previous century. Most of the bicycles I have seen through the years bear the brand name, Royal Enfield. The 1930s roadster you see here has been a favorite of mine for many years, acquired through a years-long trade with my friend James Allen (Yes, bicycle trade negotiations among collectors sometimes go on for years). I love the motorcycle-style splash guards and of course the field guns fretted in the chainwheel. The Royal Enfield motto is "Built like a Gun."
