Durkopp has been known for the manufacture of high quality bicycles, along with sewing machines and motorcycles, since the early 1900s. (I consider my 1939 Durkopp Killian & Vopel track bicycle one of the jewels of my collection). Durkopp applied the name Diana to its bicycle range as early as 1910. I've owned the Durkopp Diana Sport roadster you see here for many years. The original gleaming black enamel has held up very well, but the white darts have suffered some minor paint loss. (To touch up or leave well enough alone?)
The bicycle is as found, save for the addition of a combination speedometer/headlamp and dynamo (in need of wiring), tool bag, and brass pump.
