Motobecane Wine Bike

I am lucky to know a very talented welder and fabricator by the name of Dick Bodell. Although he has no particular interest in bicycles, Dick has been repairing, inventing, fabricating for me for many years. His Wisconsin shop is unheated, so we usually part company in late fall. When spring rolls around, Dick braces himself, concerned that I've had all winter to let my imagination run wild with new projects. The bike you see here is something I dreamed up during such a winter. It began life as a mid-eighties Motebecane mixte. I conceived the idea of a "Wine Bike," based on a design I'd seen in the Netherlands. Dick Bodell made it happen!
