The bicycle you see here is one of the last incarnations of the Raleigh roadster that helped dominate the "adult" bicycle market before the bike boom of the 1970s and the influx of the Japanese ten speed. It was sold by Marshall Field's of Chicago, known for the quality of their merchandise (there is a Marshall Field transfer on the seat tube). The chrome mudguards and chainguard may be considered a step up from Raleighs sold through more mundane channels. The Sturmey-Archer hub is dated 1967. The Sturmey-Archer "muscle car" style twin shifters on the top tube are slightly over-engineered.
The Sturmey-Archer battery tube on the seat mast is my addition.
